Bucharest and Iasi, Romania and Paris, France

Highlights

October 9−14 (optional post-trip extension to Paris, France: October 14–16)
Open to donors whose gifts to the Museum total $50,000 or more

Bucharest:

  • Attend the unveiling ceremonies for the National Memorial for the Victims of the Holocaust in Romania
  • Meet the President of Romania, Traian Basescu, and dine in the Presidential Palace
  • Enjoy a private luncheon with King Michael, who reigned as Romania's monarch until he was forced to abdicate the throne in 1947
  • Visit historic synagogues and cemeteries on a special day trip to Iasi

Paris:

  • Visit the Drancy Holocaust Memorial and the Memorial to the Martyrs of the Deportation
  • Meet prominent Jewish leaders Richard Prasquier, President of CRIF; Eric de Rothschild, President of the Shoah Memorial; and Davidde Rothschild, President of the Foundation for the Memory of the Shoah
  • Enjoy private access to high-ranking government officials, including Jean David Levitte, Father Patrick Desbois, and Archbishop of Paris Andre Armand Cardinal Vingt-Trois (schedules permitting)
